Yes, ole Ron was an entertaining actor. He stole the term "Trickle Down Economics" from Will Rogers statement during the Great Depression. Those catchy 3 words were used during Ronald Reagan's presidency when the marginal tax rate on the highest-income tax bracket was cut from 70% to 28%.
Since the amazing spending of the G W Bush years where we got into a war of agression [not defense] and cut taxes to the tune of a trillion bucks in borrowed money to pay for tax cuts, we were left with 10 trillion of debt in 2008.
All the carrying on since leads me to question where were the calls for "throw the bum out" from 2000 throuh 2007?
I feel for the younger generations. what a mess is being created for them; I don't see how America can pull itself out unless they get down on their hands and knees and pray to God.
Charlene, It is not the President that spends the money it is Congress. ONLY the congress has the ability to spend money as put forth by the Constitution of the United States. The spending did not go out of control until the majority of congress was from the Democrat party in 2007.
Thanks, Missy, I miss Ron too. He was a great president and our country was so much better off with him than many we've had since.
Yes, Corgi, our younger generation has a mess, but maybe they will be smarter than their grandparents!
Thanks for your comment, Phil.
Charlene, we should have been throwing the bums out for a long time...especially the Democratic congress that loves to spend our money, but not their own.
OH my goodness what a tape. Loved it and will have to send it to my brother Tommy. haha So true and sad Glad you took the time to share it with us Hope your doing well Linda and thanks for always checking on this ole grandma. lol Love Maggie
