If you are ever going to love me,
Love me now, while I can know
The sweet and tender feelings
Which from true affection flow.
Love me now
While I am living.
Do not wait until I'm gone
And then have it chiseled in marble,
Sweet words on ice-cold stone.
If you have tender thoughts of me,
Please tell me now.
If you wait until I am sleeping,
Never to awaken,
There will be death between us
And I won't hear you then.
So, if you love me, even a little bit,
Let me know it while I am living
So I can treasure it.
It you think of it, we are going to the city today. Hopefully this is it, except for checkups. Thank you to all my family, and especially my blogging friends.

Yes, it was a good poem with good thoughts. Thanks for commenting.
The check up went great!
Good poem. Something we should all think about!
I liked that! Love is definitely a "now" thing.
My MIL, Rest in Peace, used to say, "If you have flowers for me, give them to me now..."
That is wonderful.
I always tell my friends that I don't want any flowers at the funeral. Give me flowers now! Say you love me now! That's what I try to do for everyone.
Vern and Linda, Harold joins me in saying, "we love you." Pris
