What Are the Odds?

Did we elect these people??

Civil War planes?
Let me know how that works out.

I'm saying GREAT paint job.

"We had no idea anyone was buried there."

I didn't know we could choose.

This one says it all.

Please, anyone,
if you've seen this man.??

What are the odds of that?

I would have guessed after age 19.

Enjoy your chuckle for the day!

Facebook Changes: ARGHHHHH....

I, along with 1000's of others, from what I've read, hate the changes.  Can't they leave well enough alone?  Oh well, change is what make the world go around, but I listened to this guy on how to change the news feed back to the previous one, so if you are interested, please go to his site.  To change it back to the new one click on the 'news feed' at the top left of your page!  Good luck!

BOATLIFT (HD Version) - An Untold Tale of 9/11 Resilience

Absolutely amazing!

Insights from Thomas Jefferson

I read this this morning, and am amazed at the wisdom our Founding Fathers had.  Oh, that our leaders had this kind of wisdom today.  Read, ponder, and enjoy!  Have a great weekend, too!  Linda

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities,
as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away
from those who are willing to work and give to those
who would not."
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own
debts as it goes. A principle which, if acted on,
would save one-half the wars of the world."
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can
prevent the government from wasting the labors of the
people under the pretense of taking care of them."
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad
government results from too much government."
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the
right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to
protect themselves against tyranny in government."
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to
time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the
propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors
is sinful and tyrannical."
And in 1802 Thomas Jefferson said: "I believe that
banking institutions are more dangerous to our
liberties than standing armies. If the American people
ever allow private banks to control the issue of their
currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the
banks and corporations that will grow up around the
banks will deprive the people of all property--until
their children wake-up homeless on the continent their
fathers conquered."

A Rough Week

It's been kind of a rough week:
Too much rain, lots of wind and heat, three earthquakes, with a Hurricane threatening and the market went crazy, but I made it so far.

How about you?

Importance of Bats

The newsletter from, "The Texas Gardener Seeds" said: Put up a bat house to encourage the presence of these shy animals.

Bats consume 3,000 or more mosquitoes and other insects nightly, and bats are less likely to be rabid than dogs are.

Need another reason?

Bats are responsible for up to 95 percent of the seed dispersal essential to the regeneration of forests. Our planet is populated with plenty of bizarre and astonishing creatures.

Here are three from the Bat Family:

Sucker-footed Bat

Red-Winged Fruit Bat

Left-Winged Ding Bat

So 2 out of 3 Bats have a useful purpose!
If we could just train her to eat mosquitoes...or do anything useful!

The Problem With Hobbies

Calvin and Hobbes

Monday, September 12, 2011

After the emotional day, yesterday, I think this is appropriate.  I hope our country doesn't go back to the same old stuff we've endured in the past years, but I don't think yesterday, and the prayers and Scripture read, will affect very many.  Today will be just the same.  As a people and a country, we need to continue to pray for our country, and to vote for the people who will bring us back to the great nation we've been.

Christianity is now the target of persecution...

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at
Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! Means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.

Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

" However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so
.. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom
FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.."

If you are not ashamed, pass this on ..

I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you?

Common Sense

This has been around awhile, but maybe we need to be reminded!  Have a great day, and remember our fallen on the anniversary of 9/11 tomorrow.

Common Sense
Today I would like for all of us to reflect on "Common
Sense." The world, or should I say the people of this
world, particularly this generation, seem to be living
in an age when good old Common Sense doesn't make sense
anymore. My parents told me about Common Sense early in
my life and told me I would do well to call on her when
making decisions.
Today I read her obituary:
Obituary Common Sense....
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,
Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No
one knows for sure how old she was since her birth
records were long lost in bureaucratic red tape. She
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable
lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain,
why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always
fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by
simple financial policies (don't spend more than you
earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not
children, are in charge).
Her health began to deteriorate rapidly when well
intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in
place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with
sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teen
suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch;
a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student,
only worsened her condition. Common Sense lost ground
when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they
themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten
Commandments became contraband; churches became
businesses; and criminals received a better treatment
than the victims. Common Sense took a beating when you
couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own
home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common
Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman
failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was
hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was awarded
a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by her parents,
Truth and Trust; her husband, Discretion; her
daughter, Responsibility; and her son, Reason. She is
survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights,
Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim. Not many
attended her funeral because so few realized she was
Let's all try to make some sense today and bring
Common Sense back where she belongs.
