A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views, that is an honor, and there are far too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.

Thank you, ladies AND gentlemen, for all you’ve done. Your sacrifices, both large & small, have not been forgotten.

A special thank you to my dad, my step-dad, my daughter, my brothers, my nephews, my son-in-law, and many more extended family for serving our country in the various arms of the service. A special thank you to those who are serving today. May our Lord bless and protect each one of you!

I can relate to writing one of those black checks. Never quite thought about it that way but it is true.
