Life Is a Gift

I read this today, and it really touched my heart. I hope it does the same for you.

Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

====================================

This reminded me of my favorite Irish saying:

I used to complain that I had no shoes.
Until I met a man who had no feet.

Larry just found out today that he has 7 weeks before the mill shuts down. He's been there 6 years. The first mill he worked at closed in 2003 and he had been there for 28 years. Stinks to start over, but God provided 6 years ago and He will again. Thank God I went back to public school this year. Looks like we'll need that insurance after all.

Oh, Penny, I'm so sorry about Larry's job. I pray he will find something soon. PTL you have a job with benefits.

I don't know what the answer is, but we do know who holds the future!

Life is indeed a gift! This household has learned that lesson the hard way over the past five weeks.

I enjoyed this post. Very refreshing!

Thanks for dropping by my page today. To answer your question, Long Island is off the coast of NY. If you look at a map, you will see an island that sort of looks like a fish. That would be us. LOL
