Together Again

Together Again

Today, my step-father, passed into the arms of Jesus. He died peacefully in his sleep this afternoon. My mom died in 2002, and it has been a long time without her. My sister said he was talking to her yesterday, and then he asked where she had gone. Toni told him that she was waiting for him. That seemed to calm him.

He has been dad to my twin sister and me for over 65 years. He met my mother in Denver, and they fell madly in love. They were 'soul mates' before 'soul mates' were made popular.

He loved us as much as a father can love his children.

His life was full and rich with family, friends, and his country. He was in the Air Force. He was a pilot in the Korean War, WWII, and also served in Viet Nam. He was stationed at many bases in the United States. He died as a full Colonel. He served well!

We will miss him; his sense of humor, his love, his friendship, his companionship, his
thoughtfulness. He was artistic in his duck carving. He taught so many people how to do it too.

The 'dash' of his life was full of all the things that make life worth living. He was a loving son, a loving husband, the father of 4 children, Lana, Linda, Toni, and Steve. He has 9 grandchildren: Matt and Larry, Carole, Phillip, and Joshua, Erik and Christian, Christopher and Samantha. He also is survived by 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and friends. He also leaves his special friend, Bev.

Thank you, dad, for your life. May our Lord welcome you home, and Rest In Peace.

So sorry for your loss, Linda. What a beautiful testimony for your "dad" and your parents' love.
