Tribute to Connie!

Yesterday, we made the trip to Denver, again, to say "Goodbye" to one special lady.  Her name was Connie Buchanan, and she was our cousin.  It seems like we are beginning to say that word to so many of our generation.  Our sweet cousin, Shirley, came with us.  She is from Hoxie KS, so she had a few more miles to go.  Our beautiful sister, Sherry, flew out from California.  My brother, David and his wife, Regina, came from Greeley.  Our other brother, Jim and and Barb, came from Arvada.

It was so good seeing so many of our cousins and their families.  Getting reacquainted is one of the blessings of a funeral.

The trip was long, but really uneventful.  We saw so many of our precious family members, and that is the reason we go to these funerals.  Not everyone can make it to weddings, birthday parties, the birth of babies, but we do try to go to the "Goodbyes".  All of her precious family was there, and all of my siblings were there.

There was lots of food for everyone.  The 'wake' was held at Connie's daughter-in-law's parents' home.  That is the kind of person Connie was.  Everyone loved her, even the other parent of the children!   Thank you, Jim and Treece Ferguson for your hospitality.

This is nice. It was a good day even tho the reason we went was for the goodbye. As I said on FB the Adams sibling are growing old gracefully.

So sorry for your lost! Isn't it funny how it takes something like a funeral to get the family all together?
Will say a little prayer for you and your family.

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I was just thinking today that I am down to no aunts and one uncle having lost three aunts this past year. So sad really. all such good people. Time has a way though. Thinking of you.

Funerals have a way of reuniting families. When Larry's great-aunt died, Larry's uncle came that had not spoken to most of his family in 26 years! Aunt Willie would have LOVED knowing she helped bring that reunion about. :) Your Connie must have been a special lady as well. Blessings!
