The Obituary of our Country

This has been around before, but it has been asked to send it out again. There is much to think about.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always
temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the

beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in

St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory

Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
of the country.
Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low

income tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of

democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million

criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how

much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our
freedom.

Thank you, Z!

The Fool-ishness of Atheism

I read this this morning, and it is a very succinct piece about what has happened to our great country.  Please share!

From "Daily Encounter"

The Fool-ishness of Atheism
"The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God,'" and "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."1
Joy and I live close to the heavily trafficked Interstate I-5 Freeway in Southern California. Overlooking this freeway close to where we live is a church that has erected a large cross located for all freeway travelers to see. I said to Joy today when passing by this cross, "How long will it be before the ACLU, or some other anti-Christian extremist, do everything possible to have this cross condemned and removed from public view? Such attacks on Christian symbolism here in the U.S. are becoming regular fare across the nation in the daily news.

Much of this anti-Christian attitude began with the banning of Bible reading and prayer in the public schools when, in June of 1963, the Supreme Court voted in favor of atheist, Madeline Murray O'Hare, who claimed that such was against the constitution of the United States of America.

"From that day to this, not only has prayer been outlawed, God's very name has been declared anathema to the United States Constitution, and forbidden to be mentioned in any federal, state, county, city or municipal context. Further decrees have revealed the depths of the ouster that initial edict has fostered. Not just prayer is forbidden in the public forum. Display of the cross is forbidden. The Ten Commandments are forbidden. The Bible is forbidden. Nativity plays are forbidden. Even the mere mention of the names, 'God' or 'Jesus', in schools are forbidden. More than that, anything even suggestive of those names is forbidden."2

Five months after the American Supreme Court ruled in favor of Madeline Murray O'Hare, John Kennedy, president of the U.S.A. was assassinated. Months later the U.S. was plunged into the Vietnam War where over 200,000 Americans were wounded, maimed or killed. And on Good Friday in April of the following year, "the United States suffered its worst earthquake and tidal wave in recorded history, a 9.2 behemoth that shattered Alaska and sent massive tidal waves roaring across the Pacific coastline…."2

Think, too, of the ever-increasing moral decline that has taken place in the U.S. since June of 1963. Ten years later in 1973 the Roe v. Wade landmark Supreme Court case legalized abortion throughout the U.S. Since then abortion for almost any reason has become, not only acceptable, but legalized—including murderous partial-birth abortion. Gay marriage has been made legal in several states and even approved by some supposed Christian denominations—something that is forbidden in the Word of God.

As the late Chuck Colson so wisely stated, "By rejecting Christianity and its moral framework, Western liberal democracies are in grave peril of collapsing upon themselves. They will no longer be able to preserve human rights and liberties. What comes next is tyranny."3

Tragically, as a nation, so many have forgotten and/or ignored the fact that, as God's Word declares, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance."4

Keep in mind, too, that while this principle, I believe, applies to all nations, it is referring specifically to the nation of Israel, and we now have political leaders here in the U.S.A. who are anti-Israel. I am not justifying everything Israel has done any more than trying to justify everything that the U.S. and my own country of Australia has done, but never let us forget that God promised Abraham, the father of the Israeli nation, saying, "I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."5

Furthermore, the Christian and moral decline in the U.S. has been further attacked by atheists who are also doing all in their power to tear down and destroy the very foundation that made the U.S. for so many years such a great Christian nation—a foundation that was based solidly on the Bible and on Judeo-Christian ethics, standards and principles. What they are doing is blind, irresponsible insanity. Symbolically speaking, as a nation we are cutting off our nose to spite our face.

America wake up … Christians wake up … stand up and be counted and help spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ—the only hope of our sin-sick country and world.
