- Ahh. The Ford Ltd. Fake woody, brings back memories
- Max Rose Right, it wasn't a woody. It was babypoop yellow. I drove that thing like it was the General Lee and Enus was chasing us. Hahaha.
- Carole D James The also had a red one. That was their vehicle of choice - they had lots of kids & we didn't even know what an SUV was.
- Lisa Woodson West Classic!! I remember riding in the back of those with friends and putting our toes out the back window going down I-88
- Max Rose Clark Griswold HAD to have gotten some of his antics and lines from Vern Goossen. I'd also say that Carole and Audrey had a lot in common grin emoticon.
- Max Rose Do you remember the vacuum thingy that uncle Vern got from Popular Science? It was supposed to improve gas mileage by 25% or something...didn't mention in the ad that it'd also make you break down in the painted desert on the way to the Hoover Dam.
- Carole D James I said we weren't to mention the trip to CA! LOL
I think we remember that trip more for the bad stuff that happened than the good....See More - Carole D James I didn't ever smoke pot! :oj
... but I agree that Clark Griswold was a reincarnation of daddy. LOL - Max Rose right, that was oregano tongue emoticon I forgot about the shirts. 1500+ miles, Vern, Linda, Lana, me, Carole, Phillip, Joshua, Larry (that's 8!), luggage up on the roof, a sod house, a giant ball of string, the grand canyon, the Hoover Dam, Hearst Castle, Lodi, CA and I think we did it all in one week (there and back). Good Times!
- Carole D James Yes, Lisa. Daddy walked thru Disneyland with Mom (Linda) on one side, Max's mom (Aunt Lana) on the other with 5 kids following. What a good Mormon to bring his whole family to Disneyland! LOL
- Linda Adams Goossen I'll have to look in the old pics. I probably do. We did have fun, didn't we. You forgot about the last motel room in Santa Fe. One, LONG room, but they had enough beds for all of us. There was a rodeo or something going on in town. We need to write a book.
- Max Rose I didn't "forget". I've done everything possible to repress these memories. They're simply to strong to keep them down smile emoticon
- Phil Goossen The memories are strong just like the smell of .... not mentioning anything in specific.
It was a great trip!!!
I remember dad buying the bag of ice to put in front of the radiator so that we wouldn't overheat. I think that the bag cost $2.00 at the time which would have been what ?! $50.00 today?? - Linda Adams Goossen Come on, Lisa, always room for one more. Max, I think you started all this with your photo! lol!
- Phil Goossen Mom you will have to look through my school pictures because I think that I wore it for one of the years (2nd grade maybe)
- Lisa Woodson West Ok let's talk about my drinking... I need help. Wanna help? wink emoticon I'd be great family!! I can be the cousin you guys go visit for Vegas Vacation. smile emoticon
- Lisa Woodson West PS You guys ever think about getting together and recreating the trip with YOUR kids? That would be a hoot!!!
- Phil Goossen Josh doesn't remember the CA trip because he was only 3, but he should be commenting anyway.
- Joshua Goossen I was quiet 1. because I kept the computer off this weekend. Had to buy a fridge (and then paint it red of course), 2. spend time with the girls (it was short and sweet) 3. and I really don't remember too much...I think mom had me on medicine the whole trip... smile emoticon
- Joshua Goossen And Phil what would I comment about? You wouldn't feed me? You all still mess with me when I made a big stink about McDonalds and M&D had to get me a Happy Meal! My life was changed because of that!!!!
- Lisa Woodson West lol - I saw the shirt! Classic! If you all ever do the Griswolds family vacation out to Las Vegas, you better call me!!! I am so crashing the party! smile emoticon I will help you all work on your drinking problems...caused undoubtedly by wearing these kind of shirts in public wink emoticon
- Lisa Woodson West smile emoticon I love the shirts smile emoticon just wish I had had one too!! It's hard growing up as the only child of an only child...and doesn't get any easier as an adult. Looks like you all had a great time! smile emoticon (PS I am October 6, 2010 at 2:14pm · still up for adoption if anyone wants to include me!)
- Max Rose really hard to believe this photo received this much attention - nostalgia is a crazy thing!
